We travelled to Malibu on Martin Luther King Day and went to a wonderful meal at Dukes which is an Hawaiian theme. It was so lovely as we had a booth overlooking the beach and the lapping waves, with Hawaiian ukulele music playing. Magical - especially after two glasses of wine and a stroll along the beach.

A work colleague came round with a house gift which was lovely. A very large vintage rusty circle with a CND symbol inside.

She is somewhat of a hippy and we had a good chat about tree hugging in The Joshua Tree park and how I should try it; smoking weed; only eating what your blood type allows; howling at the blood wolf moon and burning man parties - all I can say is look it up!!!

I couldn't stop chuckling. It was a full on happy onslaught of amazing information.....

Lulu went for her first grooming here and they loved her. I had arrived early and had walked around the huge outside shopping mall with Lulu using her fluorescent orange harness which stops her pulling (I haven't seen anything like it here). I noticed we kept getting funny looks and then I realised that she was doing such a good job walking beside me and that coupled with my reactor light glasses, which had gone completely black, they must have thought I was blind!

I have also joined a gym, in the hope that I will get fit and slim here before the hot weather really kicks in. The gym area is very open plan and there are so many bronzed beefcakes, but very thankfully also some chunky people like me.

I went to my first Aqua class and met a number of very nice ladies and gentlemen, all of the chunky persuasion. One lady told me all about her ailments in the first 30 seconds of meeting her. We had a very bossy Chinese lady called Pamela who kept telling us off and shouting 'these are very basic moves' and 'keep moving'. I thought we all did well, but Pamela felt we could have done better :-). I felt like telling her she could have improved the session too and added music and more encouragement. I'm trying Aqua with Linda today, so I'll let you know how I do.
